Testing:
The first test was to transfer different file types/sizes to the flash drive from a SATA III SSD, and then back again after a reboot. When transferring 3 DVD MPEG2 files totaling about 14GB of space, the write speed to the Team Group drive was just over 25MB/s, and when reading them back to the SSD the speed was just under 60MB/s. When transferring a 500MB folder of MP3 files that were roughly 2.5-4.5MBs each the write speed dipped to just over 10MB/s, while the read speed came in at about 30MB/s. These are not the best rates for all USB 3.0 drives out there, but they are respectable for this price.
In addition to some real world file transfer testing, I also ran the drive through some synthetic benches... CrystalDiskMark, ATTO Disk Benchmark, and USB Flash Benchmark. Each test was run once, and the system was rebooted between each of the three different tests.
CrystalDiskMark:
ATTO Disk Benchmark:
USB Flash Benchmark:
These three tests show that the drive is capable of much higher transfer rates, but this data does not reflect real world conditions. You should expect to see results as described in the first paragraph on this page, although it is cool to see the drag race speeds possible if somehow your data transfer needs were as predictable as a benchmark.
