The sample that Seagate provided is an OEM type of drive, which means there is no fancy packaging and it is simply placed in an anti-static bag and shipped. When this drive is found in a retail setting it will be packaged in a retail style box.
The Laptop Thin SSHD looks exactly like other Seagate 2.5" drives.
The front of the drive has the identification label which contains the model, serial number, and various other specifications. The bottom side has an exposed PCB, which is very common. Of course on one edge of the drive is the standard SATA power and data connections.
In an attempt to show how thin this new hybrid drive is, we see it pictured below next to Seagate's previous generation SSHD, the Momentus XT. While it is a tiny 2.7mm difference in height, when fitting a drive into a tight space it can make a huge difference.
