Everest Ultimate Edition 5.02.1756
Everest is similar to Sandra in that it includes benchmarks for many components. For hard drives it will analyze read and write performance, presenting the scores in MB/s, along with the average access time in ms. As always, higher values are better for read and write performance, and lower values are best for access time.
The scores that Everest provided in the read test were lower than I expected for the Express Card, and about what I expected for the PCI Express card. The surprise came at the Linear Read - End (MB/s) benchmark, the Express Card out performed the PCI Express card.
Write speeds are always difficult to have at high speeds. The PCI Express card obviously is the better option, however it is not a choice on a laptop (at least not until they build in a USB 3.0 port).
