The Basics:
The front of the drive is pretty plain, without a fancy design like the one found on the front of the Seagate Free Agent Go drives. There is a really tiny power/activity LED on the right side, and on the left side is the Seagate swirled logo. This drive is really thin, an obvious plus for portability.
On one end of the drive we find the new USB 3.0 connector, with the new USB 3.0 logo right above it.
The included Express Card allows you to add USB 3.0 support to any laptop with one of these slots available. Because the Express Card slot does not provide enough power on its own, an additional USB 2.0 port will be needed to add a little extra power.
What good does a USB 3.0 drive do without a USB 3.0 cable? On one end we find the new USB 3.0 A connector, which is similar to the USB 2.0 A connector (with some differences, of course). On the other end is a USB 3.0 Micro-B connection. For more information on the connectors,
CDRLabs has some really good images from an Intel Developers Forum.
