Testing (continued):
ATTO Disk Benchmark v2.41:
For the second test we'll shift gears from real-world style performance to more of a drag racing setup. Forget about how the drive performs day to day, now we want to see flat out top speeds.
ATTO's Disk Benchmark v2.41 was used to compare the drives on hand, and a small sampling of the many results provided are shown in the charts below. The test was run in a fairly standard configuration; with a transfer size from 0.5 to 8192KB, a total length of 256MB, and the queue depth increased to 10. Read and write results are provided in terms of MB/s, and higher is better.
The first graph takes a look at a sample from the lower end of the transfer size spectrum; 64KB. For read results, the 128GB RealSSD C300 not only dominates the competition, but it also blows past its published maximum speed (355MB/s) by 15MB/s.
Still looking at the 64KB test we see the Crucial drive performing on par with some of the other SSDs, but nowhere close to the top drive. That said, it does put up numbers faster than its rated maximum speed.
Moving up to 4096KB (4MB) read testing, we see a repeat performance for the Crucial drive, this time with the maximum speed surging to 376.31MB/s
