We've seen a few coolers for the Core i7 platform come across the test bench recently and today we have one that has garnered quite a bit of attention elsewhere; the Prolimatech Megahalems. Prolimatech is a Taiwanese manufacturer of cooling products that got their start in 2008, and at this time they have just one cooler, the Megahalems.

The promotional image above shows an overview of this cooler which weighs in at 790g (without a fan), and features 6 sets of 6mm U-shaped heatpipes. Before we take a closer look at the unit on hand, let's take a look at some published information on it from the product page at Crazy PC. Crazy PC has been in business since 1999, and they carry a large inventory of high performance computing components like the Megahalems.

» Includes fan clips (fan sold separately)
» Heatpipes are lined up in a straight line to prevent air back draft allowing air to easily pass through the heatsink body
