At a recent media showcase event we were introduced to
POW Audio, and their two Bluetooth speakers; the Mo and the Una. Media events can be tricky places to demo devices such as this since they are so noisy and the room is flooded with devices trying to communicate via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The speakers looked great, and the description of their features sounded great, but we asked if we could have a unit sent to us for review to see how well it really worked. While the Una is yet to be released, they were kind enough to send over a pair of the Mo speakers to try out, as having two lets you use them separately, or paired to each other to create a stereo sound system.
The promotional image above shows off the POW Audio Mo in the off-white color they call snow. In addition to this version, they also offer the Mo in graphite (grey/black) and we have one of those on hand for this review, too. One of the cool features of the Mo speaker is that expands thanks to what they call WaveBloom, a rubber membrane of sorts that attaches the base to the top of the housing (the darker grey band separating the left from right in the image above). You can keep the speakers collapsed to make them more portable, but then expand them to increase the internal volume and enhance the sound produced. The lists below cover more details on the Mo speakers, as provided by the
product page on the POW Audio website...

Right off the bat, one thing I like is that they went with USB-C for charging. This makes plugging them in easier and reduces the risk of damaging the charging port by jamming in the USB connector in the wrong orientation. They also include two accessories I was not expecting, but really like... the Universal Mount and POW Wallet. We'll take a look at those a bit later in the review.
