Testing (continued):
ATTO Disk Benchmark:
The next test is another synthetic benchmark used to document the performance of the PNY Turbo 64GB USB 3.0 flash drive. ATTO Disk Benchmark v2.47 was used to compare the same four drives as seen on the previous page, but first we have a look at the screenshot of the application as seen after testing the PNY Turbo 64GB drive.
ATTO's 8MB read test shows the PNY Turbo drive once again fail to meet its claim of being able to read at up to 95MB/s. The 81MB/s we achieved may be included in the "up to" terminology, but that isn't even close in my opinion.
The best that the PNY Turbo drive could do when it came to write testing was about ten and a half MB/s - which is well off the advertised specification. While the read test results seem plausible, and agree with the other benchmarks, this result seems out of place.
The 8KB read results once again confirm that the PNY Turbo can maintain its strong read performance across a wide range of file sizes.
When it comes to writing 8KB files, the PNY Turbo performs just like the other drives on hand, and all of them perform much slower when writing smaller files.
