Testing (continued):
CrystalDiskMark:
The next test to be executed on the
PNY Turbo 64GB USB 3.0 flash drive was CrystalDiskMark 3.0.3 x64, where it was compared to a couple other USB drives and the recently reviewed
Kingston UHS-I U3 64GB SDXC card. The screenshot below shows the CrystalDiskMark interface after testing the PNY drive, and this time we see that it almost hits the advertised read/write speeds, but not quite.
The chart below details the sequential read results, where we see the PNY drive hits just above 91MB/s, which is just a few MB/s shy of the target of 95.
When it comes to sequential writes, the PNY drive is just a fraction of a MB/s shy of the published specification of 60MB/s.
With 512K reads we see that the PNY drive doesn't drop much from its sequential read performance, and at 86MB/s it did well.
512K writes show the PNY Turbo drive as the strongest performer in the bunch, and at about 20MB/s it was roughly 6x faster than any of the other drives.
