Packaging and Accessories:
The
BlackBerry Pearl 8100 smartphone was delivered from
Geeks.com in rather generic packaging. The plain white box shown in the below left image had plenty of text labels on it to let you know what was inside, but this was obviously not intended for a retail setting. Inside the box the various components were stored in clear plastic bags, while the phone itself was found inside a pink bubble bag. The packaging may not look too impressive, but it got the job done.
In addition to the phone, you receive the accessories shown below.
There is a leather-like carrying case, an AC power adapter, a Lithium-ion rechargeable battery, and a USB cable. Keeping in mind that this is a refurbished unit, so far only the packaging has made this obvious. The accessories could all pass for new, and it is quite possible that they are, and that only the phone has seen previous use.
The Basics:
The phone itself looks new; it came with a clear plastic film over the screen, and a label on the back detailing the installation of a SIM card and (optional) memory card. The first thing that caught my attention is that the face plate is printed with the T-Mobile logo. While this phone has been unlocked for use on any compatible network, I'd prefer that it didn't have advertising on it, especially since it is for a network I will not be using.
