The Basics:
The
Patriot Memory Viper II Sector 7 1800MHz 6GB DDR3 kit consists of three 2GB modules, as shown in the the image below.
Each 1800MHz module features a black PCB, as well as a black Aluminum heatspreader that uses fins to help dissipate heat generated by the memory chips.
The below left image takes a look a what I'll call the front of one of the modules. In this view we see Patriot Memory's "Sector 7" logo, as well as a label that provides details on the module; including speed, timings, capacity, and operating voltage. The below right image shows the other side of one of the modules, where we see a similar view, except that the data label has been replaced by a Patriot Memory logo.
In the final image in this section we see edge views of the memory modules from two different angles. What we can see is that the Aluminum heatspreaders don't just use smooth "teeth" to carry heat away, but that the surfaces have some extra details in order to increase the surface area and better dissipate the heat.
