Real World Testing:
To analyze the real world performance, two more tests were executed... Reading a 4GB video file from each card, and reading a folder containing 100 pictures from each card. The speeds were timed with a stopwatch, which was started when the mouse button was released to copy the files to the hard drive. Units of measure are seconds, and lower values are better in these tests.
Transferring the 4GB video file off of
Patriot Memory's LX Pro SDHC card took close to 2 minutes. However the other cards used in this test took almost twice as long!
Transferring the pictures show's a different story. Here the Patriot Memory 32GB SDHC LX Pro card took 17 seconds, while the others were a few seconds later. The biggest difference was with the Class 2 card, which took about 10 seconds longer. If there were more than 100 pictures, this difference would surely continue to get larger.
