Passmark Performance Test 7.0:

Passmark Performance Test 7.0 has many benchmarks built into it, evaluating everything as a whole and providing individual tests for specific componets. We will be taking a look at the scores it provides for the individual disks in the system.

The DiskMark score is an overall performance score, here they are presented in generic Marks, and the higher the score the better. As the scores show, the Vertex 4 outperforms the other drives.



Taking a closer look at the breakdown of the scores, the Random Seek test, the Intel 520 wins by around 26MB/s.



Sequential Read scores are similar, however the gap between the Vertex 4 and the Intel 520 closes to 8MB/s.



Here is where the Vertex 4 shines, the Sequential Write test. Outperforming the Intel 520 by 122MB/s, and the previous generations Agility 3 by 105MB/s.
