Packaging and Accessories:

The NZXT IU01 is sold in the semi-generic packaging shown below. The brown cardboard box with black print has a no nonsense look to it, and there is plenty of room to provide the basic details on this product in multiple languages. A window on the front of the box provides a glimpse at the product, but I don't know if anyone will get too excited seeing a black PCB with a few USB connections on it.

Inside the box, the components are all kept in place by a clear plastic tray. You get the IU01 board, a power cable, a USB cable, and a printed sheet of instructions.

The Basics:

The board itself is rather simple. Basically it is a powered USB hub configured in a manner to give it the connections NZXT desired. In the below left image we see the following features (from left to right): a white 2-pin power connector, a 9-pin header for USB data connection between your motherboard and the IU01, three 9-pin USB headers for front panel connections and other internal devices, and two typical USB ports for use with external USB devices.

The above right image shows an edge view of the IU01, where we can see that adhesive backed Velcro has been provided to simplify the installation inside your case. Just find a good spot, peel off the backing, and slap it in place. Because of the Velcro, you can take the IU01 in and out with ease at any point.

The next image shows the IU01 with its cables attached. NZXT has provided mesh wrapped cables with heatshrink tubing finished ends on both the power and data leads. I found the USB data cable to have an adequate length, but would have liked the power cable to have been much longer. The power cable is just a few inches long, and no matter where I wanted to install it, the 4-pin connector was going to be visible. I like my cables to be as neat as possible, so hiding the connector would have been nice.
