Exterior Examination:

The NZXT H2 Classic Series Silent midtower case does have a unique look. Unlike many cases it is quite understated, and there are no glossy panels or edges. It is almost completely black, but there is a bit of silver trim on the front door of the case for accent (the H2 is also available in white or silver). The side panels are both solid black with no window or fan vents.

In the below left image we see the front panel/door of the case. It is held in place magnetically to make sure that it will not swing open unexpectedly. In the below right image we see one of the sides of the case, both of which are just solid black.

The top has a few interesting areas to check out. In the below left image, from left to right, we have a cover for the optional top fan (which does allow air to be sucked inside the case), the hot swap hard drive bay with cover, and the area for four USB ports, headphone and microphone jacks, the built in fan speed rocker, and the power and reset buttons. In the below right image we see a closeup of the ports and switches. There is single USB 3.0 port and three USB 2.0 ports. The fan speed rocker has three positions, | is 40% fan speed, || is 70% fan speed, and ||| is 100% fan speed.

The two most interesting features located on the top of the case are shown in the next set of images. In the below left image we find a spot for a SATA hard drive underneath a plastic cover. In the below right image I have removed the plastic cover from the fan grill. The cover is held on by magnets but does allow air to be sucked into the case.

In the below left image is the front of the case with the door ajar. I noticed sound dampening foam on the inside of the door, and I found two hidden 120mm fans below the three 5.25" drive bays. You can tell that both the 5.25" bay covers and fans will come out easily, without the need to remove any of the side panels. In the below right image is the rear of the case. We see yet another 120mm fan, the blue USB 3.0 wire, access to the motherboard I/O panel, expansion card, and power supply areas. There are also some holes for water cooling tubes and some ventilation holes.

Like we saw on the inside of the door, there is also some sound dampening material in both side panels, shown in the image below.
