The Basics (continued):
From the top, it can be seen that the 140mm fan utilizes 120mm fan mounting holes. This is a great option, so that if only one fan is needed the other fan can be installed elsewhere in a 120mm fan mount. It also means that 120mm fans can be used on the cooler, if that was for some reason desired.
The bottom view provides not only a view of the second 140mm fan, but also of the base which will be places against the CPU. The base has a nickel plating and does not have a mirror finish, but more importantly it is perfectly flat with no obvious flaws.
On either side of the base are two spring loaded screws which will attach to the appropriate mounting bracket.
The
Noctua NF-P14 fans are regarded as high quality fans that are nearly silent while still maintaining high airflow. They have two notches on the blades, which Noctua calls
Vortex Control. These notches are what allow the fans to perform well; increasing efficiency and decreasing noise.
Each fan is powered by its own cable with 3-pin connector. Each of the fan power cables is nicely wrapped from the fan shroud to the power connections using black mesh with shrink tubing ends.
