The Basics:
The Noctua NH-C14 comes with the two 140mm fans pre-installed in a push-pull configuration. The bottom fan pushes air across the fins of the cooler, while the top fan pulls air across the fins.
Both fans are attached to the cooler by two wire clips which lock into place along the side of the fins. The clips are held into place by several rubber mounts which will reduce the noise caused by vibration. These clips are pretty easy to remove, and this is a nice feature to have once the cooler is installed in the case. Removing the fans will allow the cooler to be cleaned to maintain its cooling ability.
The end of the cooler has a stamped Noctua logo in the middle of the outer fin. Along both sides of the logo, there are three heat pipes which run through the cooler and to the base. Looking to the left and right edge, the notch for the fan clips can be seen.
On the opposite side, the rest of the heat pipes can be seen. Here they come out of the heatsink fins, and travel down to the base of the cooler.
