Accessories:

As mentioned, there are no accessories included with these two new series of fans. While all of the adapters, cables, and other hardware included with the standard Noctua fans made them great, it clearly added to the price. The redux line offers you a savings in part by not including these items, and the additional technology and features of the industrialPPC fans make them expensive enough without adding in any extras. Noctua does offer these extras for sale separately, including the kit below which includes a three pack of LNA cables.

In Use:

In use, there is not much to say about these fans as they work as well as, or better than, you would expect. They are well made, fit well, are extremely quiet, and the 40cm long sleeved cables will reach to just about any header you might have on your motherboard. I tried a few of the fans out in a normal installation, but didn't submerge any of the IP67 fans to really test that feature out.

The images below show a 120mm redux fan installed on a CPU cooler and a 120mm industrialPPC fan installed on the exhaust of the case. This is an HTPC, and to be honest it was the only one in my home that did not already have Noctua fans installed. The difference in noise output was distinctly noticeable, even though I did not think it was that loud previously. The industrialPPC case fan makes about zero noise, but seems to be moving a large volume of air. As a CPU cooler fan, the redux fan works perfectly, but I really would like the AAO feature on a fan in this application. The cooler is metal, the wire clips that hold the fan on to the cooler are metal, and the hard frame of the redux fan is just pressed up against all of this metal. A little bit of rubber would be great to reduce any vibrations / noise.

In the next set of images we see that the redux fan on the CPU cooler has been swapped out for an industrialPPC fan. There was a slight drop in noise, and the CPU temperature actually dropped by 1 degree Celsius. While the industrialPPC fan installed was a 2000RPM model, the motherboard didn't let it spin up to full speed while still maintaining a very low CPU temperature.

While these industrialPPC fans may be over the top for a typical computer system, they would be perfect for a true industrial PC that may need to run in harsher conditions with minimal down time. I can see them coming in handy in one enthusiast like application though... water cooling. A couple IP67 fans mounted to a water cooling radiator would give you a little extra confidence that a leak won't destroy everything. If only motherboards, video cards, and everything else could be IP67!
