Packaging and Accessories:

The Nano Torch Twist arrived in a fairly typical retail oriented package. The flashlight is clearly visible inside the plastic shell surrounded by a well detailed cardboard hang tag. Both sides are used to provide plenty of information, as well as giving you a get look at everything you get.

The image below shows exactly everything you get, which includes the Nano Torch Twist (with battery pre-installed), a user's guide, and a short USB to Micro-USB charging cable.

The Basics:

The first time I touched the Nano Torch Twist I could feel that it was well made. I have plenty of little LED flashlights around the house, and whether they are metal or plastic, they fill a bit underwhelming. Not the Nano Torch Twist, it feels substantial, well made, and as if it was meant to last. A rubberized button on the side where you turn the device on/off, as well as cycle through the various modes, and on the end you will find a twist off cap that opens to reveal the rechargeable Lithium Ion AA battery. The cap requires several twists to get open, and once inside you will find an o-ring, and both features will help maintain the water resistance of the flashlight. As seen in the below right image, the included battery has a Micro-USB port towards one end, and with LEDs at the same end you can get a sense of the charging status (red for charging, green for charged).

The images below show off some more of the Nano Torch Twist's features. The Twist part of the name is due to its ability to have the head swivel 90 degrees. The swivel motion is very smooth, and while you could twist it to leave the beam at any angle along the path, the stops at either end are very solid. Making a rigid bodied flashlight feel solid is one thing, but this one has moving pieces and still feels more solid than many I have owned. The images below also show the Cree brand LED chip, the pocket clip included on the side of the flashlight, and the other end which has a rather strong magnet under the Torch logo.
