AS SSD Benchmark 1.4.3704.27281:
The
AS SSD benchmark is targeted towards testing the read and write performance of solid state drives, and it is the final test to consider in this review. While we only have one true SSD on hand, the test can still be run on traditional hard drives and I was interested to see what we would find. Results charted below are all provided in units of MB/s, and higher is better for each. We have sequential read and write tests, as well as read and write tests that utilize 4K random blocks.
The two sequential tests are shown above, and the
Seagate Momentus XT was able to gain some ground thanks to its adaptive memory. Sequential testing always makes an SSD look incredible, but the Momentus XT looks pretty strong for a hard drive.
The 4GB SSD component and the adaptive memory couldn't seem to help the Momentus XT in the random portion of AS SSD's test.
