Conclusion:
Overall, I think the Atongm Bluetooth laser projection virtual keyboard works very well - and much better than I expected that it would. While it takes some getting used to it, since there is no physical feedback as you type, it performs very well and was able to keep up with me while typing at about my normal rate. All of the keys are there, although some are in a bit of a different position in order to make it more compact, and it really wasn't that tough to use it for an extended stretch.
I really don't have any complaints for this device, other than I don't think I really need anything like this. When on my phone or tablet, I get by just fine without an actual keyboard. And when I am at my desktop or on my laptop, I have more traditional keyboards that are more convenient to use. For travelers or business people who are on their tablets quite often I could see this device coming in handy much more often. What might also be cool is if this technology was integrated in to devices that could benefit from it... Like perhaps a tablet (or maybe a tablet case) that could project its own keyboard. Or maybe a user interface for industrial equipment or a control system where a physical keyboard might just get in the way, or might get damaged from water / dust / chemicals in the environment.
Gearbest.com presently sells this device for $67.11, which just seems like a good chunk of change to me. You can get a very nice, more traditional keyboard for that kind of money - and it might just be rechargeable and cordless, too. While it has been fun using this keyboard, I just can't imagine spending that much money to do so.
In the end, the Atongm Bluetooth laser projection virtual keyboard earns the Bigbruin.com "Great Idea" award. I'm hoping this kind of technology can be developed further and integrated in to devices where a virtual keyboard could be a more practical idea.
