Packaging and Accessories:
The
Kingston SSDNow V+ solid state drive is packaged in a retail box that provides little detail on what makes this drive special. The front of the box gives the minimal information such as the size, the model, and sub-model. The back of the box provides a bit more information, but nothing to specific, as it lists everything in 17 different languages.
Inside the box, all of the components are packaged in a plastic box. Nothing was moving around, and everything was well protected and undamaged. Beneath the CD shown in the image below, the SSD was in an anti-static bag and placed in a form fitting section of the plastic box.
There are two ways to obtain this SSD; as a stand alone drive or as part of the Performance Upgrade Kit. The review sample was included in the upgrade kit which includes a variety of extra items to make the transition to an SSD a snap whether you are building a new system or migrating from an existing installation.
The picture below shows everything that is included in the bundle. Starting at the top left corner there is a 4-pin "Molex" to SATA power adapter, a SATA data cable, a mini-USB to USB cable, 2.5" hard drive rails to fit the drive into a 5.25" drive bay, the SSD itself, a CD with various applications and manuals, and finally a plastic 2.5" USB drive enclosure.
