Conclusion:
The bottom line is that the
Kingston 32GB Micro SDHC card is definitely worth considering if you want to add as much storage space to your tablet PC, smart phone, or other mobile device as is physically possible. 32GB Micro SDHC cards are not all that common yet, and the Kingston unit is a leader in terms or price and speed rating.
During testing the Kingston card was able to prove that it earned its Class 4 rating, and performed respectably across the board. Faster is always better when it comes to these little cards, and while Class 4 is acceptable, it would be great to see a Class 6 or Class 10 card somewhere on the horizon!
The
Bigbruin.com shopping engine finds a different configuration of this card for as little as $132 (US), but digging deeper on the Web will find it available for as little as
$110 (US) with the SDHC card adapter.
Based on the current cheapest price, this card sells for roughly $3.44 per GB. That is quite high for a Micro SDHC card, but having 32GB of storage space on something that is about the size of a pinky finger nail will no doubt command a premium. And for laughs I thought I'd calculate the price per pound based on this item weighing a mere 0.1 ounce! These cards are just about worth their weight in gold! As of the day this review was written, gold was selling for about $1400 (US) per ounce, while an ounce of these cards would cost $1100 (US)!
All things considered, the Kingston 32GB Micro SDHC card earns the Bigbruin.com "Highly Recommended" award for being a great choice in the rather limited market of high capacity Micro SDHC cards.
Pros:
» Performed respectably during testing and passed for a Class 4 device
» Highest capacity storage available for today's Micro SDHC compatible mobile devices
» One of only a few 32GB Micro SDHC cards available (and many others are Class 2)
Cons:
» Faster is always better
» Price - Over $3.40 per GB, and just about worth its weight in gold!
