External Examination:

Lets move on to the Ineo Technology I-NA309 D Pro Super Speed USB 3.0 to SATA Dual Bay RAID Enclosure itself. The outer shell of the enclosure is made from 1/8" thick aluminum and appears to be quite sturdy, not to mention it looks really good on my desk. I have already had a few people that have come over to my house comment about it. It really is a nice looking drive enclosure. But the best part about the Ineo Technology I-NA309 D Pro Super Speed USB 3.0 to SATA Dual Bay RAID Enclosure has to be the built in hardware RAID. As you will see as the review progresses the Ineo Technology I-NA309 D Pro Super Speed USB 3.0 to SATA Dual Bay RAID Enclosure can hold it's own.

Above we get a close look at the front of the Ineo Technology I-NA309 D Pro Super Speed USB 3.0 to SATA Dual Bay RAID Enclosure it is made from a plastic mesh that has very fine holes covering the entire surface. This is to allow ample airflow through the enclosure to keep the drives as cool as possible. It also features a red LED that indicates drive activity and a blue LED that indicates that the power is on.

Above we have a closer look at the left side and then the right side of the enclosure, nothing special here just more of the nice aluminum finish.

Ok now we move on to something a little more interesting... the back of the enclosure. Here we can see the power switch, the USB 3.0 port, the power port, a small 4 cm fan, the reset button, and of course the mode switching knob. Lets talk a little bit about a couple of these, to be specific the power port, the reset button, and the mode knob. These are two areas where I really have to complain. The power port is very loose and does not hold the power cord in the enclosure very tightly and simply moving the Ineo Technology I-NA309 D Pro Super Speed USB 3.0 to SATA Dual Bay RAID Enclosure just a little bit causes the power cord to fall out and you lose power to the device. I would be really mad if I was transferring some important data and I accidentally hit the drive enclosure and it lost power. This could be potentially detrimental to business users that rely on daily backups of their business data. I just have to ask why would you put the mode knob and the reset button on the outside of the enclosure? All it takes is a twist of the knob and a push of the button and BAM! your RAID array is gone, your data is gone, and you don't even know how it happened. As a father of two I know my kids like to touch everything they can get their hands on. Perhaps these two items should have been placed inside the enclosure to avoid hazards such as this.
