Windows 7 Experience:
Windows 7 has a simple benchmark built in to analyze the capabilities of a few key hardware components. We will focus on just the memory test, but you can also analyze your graphics card, hard drive, and processor. Higher is better for these results, and the highest possible score is 7.9.
Once you get above 2GB of capacity, the Windows 7 Experience doesn't seem to care what you do with this memory. You get a 5.9 whether you have 3GB or 4GB, 667MHz or 800MHz.
While the memory performed well, the results in any test couldn't really make a strong case for 4GB over 3GB or 2GB, and for that matter 800MHz over 667Mhz. Benchmark results are not the only thing to consider when looking at a memory upgrade, as most people are well aware that adding more memory improves overall system performance, especially when multi-tasking.
