Conclusion:
We have seen many laptop coolers here at Bigbruin.com, and this would be the fourth from
Hiyatek. Most of them operate in near silence, which is a bonus. That being said, the fan on this one doesn't seem to be doing anything useful as the drop in temperatures experienced with the HY-CF-6288-1 could be recreated just by using a wire rack we had lying around.
Searching the Internet for a place to purchase the Hiyatek HY-CF-6288-1 laptop cooler comes up empty. If we were to guess, we’d have to guess this would retail for around $30 based on comparable models with a built-in USB hub from other manufacturers. While there are certainly other models which incorporate USB hubs, card readers, or are made with sturdier materials, this particular model is quite nice because of its non-slip surface and the adjustable screws which give it a nice customizable feel.
Pros:
» Rubberized, non-slip surface
» Quiet
» 4-port USB hub built in
» Built-in fan control
» Mini USB to USB cable included
» Handy storage compartment
» Replaceable 80mm fan
Cons:
» Minimal cooling effect
» Larger laptops may hang over the edge
» Clips may interfere with lower profile laptops
