Conclusion:
If you are looking for a very good budget-conscious LCD monitor, the
Hannspree HF237HPB shouldn't be passed up. The image was flawless regardless of the input (Computer VGA and HDMI, Playstation 3 both games and Blu-Ray playback). Being able to run anything at the max resolution is great, and gaming at 1920x1080 provides an incredible experience.
The key thing missing on this monitor is a more adjustable stand. The lack of height and pivot adjustment may help to keep the price down, so if you need these features expect to pay for a more expensive monitor. Being a refurbished model, a few standard accessories are missing, as well. These are not really a big deal as the core components needed to use the monitor are included. Expect the unit to have some minor cosmetic flaws, however it should look fairly close to new condition.
Geeks.com has the
Hannspree HF237HPB on sale for $145.99 (at the time of this review). The same monitor can be found at your local
Best Buy for $199.99. The difference is a refurbished monitor versus new; lack of some cables, and 90 day warranty versus 3 year. For close to $55, you'll have to decide how important all those things are to you.
The quality, price, and features makes this a monitor not to be passed up. The Hannspree HF237HPB 23 inch HDMI LCD monitor is awarded the Bigbruin.com "Recommended" award.
