Packaging:

The GoFlex TV HD media player is sold in the now familiar Seagate retail packaging. While the TV HD media player is available bundled with a GoFlex drive included, the version we received was the player only (we already had a GoFlex drive from our earlier review). The two images below show the retail box you'll see on your store shelves when you go to purchase the player. The below left image shows the front of the box, which includes a promotional image of the unit and a few of the streaming media services it supports. The below right image shows the back of the box, which gives you slightly more detail about the specifications. On the sides (not shown) are the typical things such as what's included in the box.

Accessories:

Included with the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex TV HD media player is the plethora of accessories as shown in the two images below. The below left image shows the cables which include (1) component cable, (1) AV cable and (1) 5V power adapter. The below right image shows the remote control that comes with the GoFlex TV. Thankfully, Seagate has included the (2) batteries required for operation - always a good thing.

External Examination:

The media player itself is a very small unit measuring about 6 inches deep by 4 inches wide by 1.5 inches tall.

The below left image shows the front of the unit with the door open. You can see the remote sensor on the upper left, the power light on the upper right, and inside the SATA power and data connectors which allow for easy installation and removal of the GoFlex drive itself. The below right image shows you the back of the unit, which is very nicely marked indicating what each interface is. From left to right we have the 5V power input, AV cable connection, composite connection, optical audio out, HDMI output, Ethernet connector, and a USB port.

There is also an additional USB port on the right side of the unit as well as a reset button, as shown below. You can see that the unit has vents cut out to ensure the drive and the electronics inside get plenty of airflow. The USB ports are used to add the optional wireless adapter or external disk drives for further expandability.
