Seagate has added yet another member to the award winning family of GoFlex external storage devices. The new GoFlex Slim not only comes in an extremely small package (as the Slim portion of the name might imply), but it also offers high speed data transfers thanks to having a 7200RPM drive with 16MB of cache memory connected via USB 3.0.
Many times, when it comes to saving space with an external drive, performance is what suffers. Seagate recognized that just because you want your drive to be small doesn't mean you have more time to wait for data transfers. They sum it up best on their website with the following statement:

While it would be nice to have higher capacity options, this drive is only available with a 320GB capacity. 320GB doesn't go as far it might have a few years ago, and I know that I could fill this drive up with out really trying. But, in order to offer the slim design and high performance that they are touting, I can understand why a fairly low capacity is necessary.
