Once we get the actual drive out of the recyclable packaging, you'll notice how clean the design of the drive is.
There are only four lights on the bottom of the unit to indicate activity and capacity level.
The image below shows the back of the unit with its louvered slots for airflow, AC adapter, and USB 3.0 slots.
CrystalDiskInfo was used to see what Seagate is using inside the 4TB GoFlex Desk. According to the utility, we have a SATA III drive capable of 6Gbp/s and 7200RPM. Much like every other large drive these days, it also supports Native Command Queueing and SMART Monitoring. CrystalDiskInfo is unable to determine the cache on the drive so we can only guess as to whether it is of the 32MB or 64MB variety.
