The eStarling TouchConnect packaging does not provide a great deal of information. The information the packaging provides is sufficient for the user to know what they are looking at on a high level. If this was to be sold in a retail setting it would be helpful to have more information on the packaging.
Removing the outer layer slipcover, we find a heavy duty cardboard box protecting the frame. Inside the box the frame is surrounded by foam padding. Under the initial layer of padding the components are kept separate and individually wrapped so they will not damage the frame.
The Basics:
There are not very many parts needed for the frame. From the top left, there is a small stand leg, a power adapter, and the digital photo frame itself. The review sample did not include a start-up guide or user manual, but these types of documents would be helpful to have for the novice user.
The back of the frame looks very similar to a monitor. It has a high gloss finish which will show fingerprints rather easily. The back panel is also beveled so the middle is thicker than the edge.
There are two ways to mount the TouchConnect. In the top section of the back panel there is a hanging hook if you wish to hang it on the wall. If you prefer to have it sitting on your desk, you can use the stand leg at the bottom of the back bezel. To the right of the frame leg are the hard-wire connection points. Here we find the SD memory slot which allows the memory to be expanded up to 4GB, giving you a total of 6GB of storage. Next is a standard Ethernet and power connection, then the on/off switch.
