Packaging and Accessories:

The Synology Diskstation DS415+ showed up at Bigbruin.com in the same manner as all recently covered devices. A plain outer cardboard box was used to protect an inner cardboard box that was just slightly less plain.



This inner box still couldn't be considered ready for a retail setting, as the markings are minimal, and I don't know what they would do if these were to be sold in a brick and mortar store.



Inside this box we find the NAS server wrapped in a thin foam sleeve and suspended at the center of a rigid foam frame. The level of protection is definitely more than adequate to make sure the device can travel around the world without damage. Inside this inner box we also find the box of accessories.



The accessories are shown in detail below. You receive a quick installation guide, a bag of drive mounting screws (which may be unnecessary), two network cables, and a two piece AC/DC power adapter. Considering that the DS415+ has two LAN ports that can either be used for link aggregation or failover purposes, it is nice to see that they included two cables to make sure you were ready to use this feature right out of the box.
