Using a stop watch I next tested the time it took to copy a 1.5GB file from the DiskStations to a Windows 7 desktop via a Gigabit network connection.
Wow, both devices had the same read speed. Although the DS411+ did have a few more services running and an extra drive to write to, the SHR was equally as quick.
Again using a stop watch I tested the time it took to copy a 1.5GB file from my Windows 7 desktop to the DiskStations via a Gigabit network connection.
Here is where the more powerful dual core CPU of the DS411+ gained a huge advantage over the DS411. At over 200% faster, the DS411+ is still king of the DS400 series.
