Random read/write performance on flash drives is similar to SSDs - they tend to be slow performers in this environment, the below results illustrate this phenomenon. USB 3.0 helps the drive sustain a 81% lead over the USB 2.0 results.
CrystalDiskMark - Random Write Performance:
Finally we have random write performance which rounds up to 1MB/s for USB 3.0 and three quarters of a MB when connected to USB 2.0. There always is room for improvement, right?
