Software:
Cooler Master has developed software to work with the Sirus headset in the event that you do not have any sound drivers installed compatible with 5.1 headphones. However, most modern motherboards will be compatible with 5.1 audio. As the software is still in testing, it was not included in the box. I expect Cooler Master will either include it with the final packaging, or make it available online.
Below is a screenshot of the 5.1 configuration using the drivers for my motherboard. Here each speaker can be tested to ensure that it works, however unfortunately the volume level of each speaker can not be adjusted.
Also, it should be noted that Windows 7 doesn't list these as headphones in the sound devices listing; they show up as speakers. If the speaker icon bothers you, it is simple to change the icon to a headphone.
The Sirus software installation is simple and straight forward. Once it is installed, the software can be launched when needed or set to run at start-up. The below left image shows the volume control options. With the control pod you can adjust the volume level for each channel, but the software allows you to get a little more detailed by not only adjusting by channel, but also by earphone. The below right image details the sound level options for the microphone, which can not be adjusted on the control pod.
