Testing (continued):
AIDA64 Extreme Edition 2.50.2000:
The benchmarks in AIDA64 include memory read, write, and copy speeds (MB/s), where higher is better. The benchmark also includes memory latency (ns), where lower scores are better.
"Memory Read" scores were about the same between the Crucial Tactical LP 16GB and Elite 8GB kits. Overclocking the Tactical LP kit lead to ~10% gains in read performance.
"Memory Write" scores also came in about the same between the two kits. Overclocking the Tactical LP kit did increase write performance by 3%.
"Memory Copy" was also equivalent between the two tested kits. Expect a ~12% bump in performance after overclocking the Tactical LP kit.
Finally, the "Memory Latency" was tested. The Tactical LP kit came in at 44.4ns stock while the Elite series was at 43.1, a 3% improvement. The Tactical LP latency dropped to 41.3ns (~8% improvement) once overclocked but the Elite kit dropped to 38.6ns, or a 10% improvement. Its safe to say the Elite series memory does have a faster latency.
