Testing (continued):

ATTO Disk Benchmark v2.41:

Next ATTO's Disk Benchmark v2.41 was run on the three drives. It was configured in a fairly standard manner, with the Transfer Size set to 0.5 to 8192.0KB, Overlapped I/O, a Total Length of 256MB, and a Queue Depth at 10. Units of measure are MB/s, and higher values are better.

The results in this whole suite of tests seemed a bit off after what we saw in CrystalDiskMark, but they were repeatable. The Backup Plus did quite well, but not as well as expected based on what happened in the previous tests.

The first chart shows 64KB reads, where the BackUp Plus drive gets to just over 90MB/s, but it about 30MB/s slower than the GoFlex Slim.

With 64KB writes we see similar results, with the Backup Plus doing well, but not nearly as well as the GoFlex Slim.

Jumping up to 8MB reads doesn't change anything, as the GoFlex Slim is still up around 120MB/s, while the Backup Plus stays right around 90MB/s.

And wrapping things up we have 8MB writes, where we again see numbers that are nearly identical to the first three charts in this section.
