Packaging and Accessories:
The motherboard is packed in a heavy duty cardboard box which has a lot of good information printed on it. The below left picture shows the front of the box, where we see the model, supported processors, and warranty information. However the back of the box goes into much more detail on what the motherboard supports, and its four main features: CeraM!X Heatsink Coating Tech, TUF Components, Thermal Radar, and Tested Server-Grade Reliability.
The outside of the box doesn't present everything the Sabertooth 990FX is capable of. There is a flap on the box that can be lifted to provide a much greater amount of detail. The picture on the left shows the top of this flap while the bottom portion is shown in the right picture. All of this information allows a less knowledgeable user to become better informed.
Not only is the motherboard placed in an anti-static bag, but it is also in another box which has a clear plastic lid. Almost every other motherboard I have seen is placed in the bag, but left loose in the box, usually with the accessories placed on a piece of cardboard over the motherboard. The box and plastic lid provides additional protection for the motherboard, helping to ensure it arrives at the final destination undamaged.
ASUS does a good job of ensuring that all necessary accessories are included with the Sabertooth 990FX. There are the standard documents that include a User Manual, TUF Certification, and a 5 Year Warranty sheet. Hardware accessories include 4 SATA 6Gb/s cables, a SLI bridge, Q-Shield I/O guard and the ASUS Q-connector for the front panel connectors.
