Power Consumption:

Power consumption testing was completed using a Kill-A-Watt power monitor to track the Wattage drawn by the test system. Idle conditions were once again established by letting the system sit idle for 30 minutes, at which time the Wattage was stable. The load testing was established by using 3DMark Vantage four times, the highest Wattage used was tracked.

At idle, the GTX 560Ti is the most efficient, by 5W. What is interesting, is that we can see that each generation the power usage when idle is getting less.



Even when under a load, the GTX 560Ti drew less power than the other cards, this time by about 20W. However, overclocking the card forced it to draw more power, which is to be expected.
