The Basics (continued):
The NVR is a gray and black box with the EZVIZ logo and name front and center. On the bottom right side, you have a single USB port and above that you have (3) LED indicators; power, HDD and Ethernet activity.
Along either side there are passive cooling vents, though one side is round which might make you think there is a fan, but there is not. The bottom also has some ventilation holes, as well as a few stickers indicating that you will void your warranty if removed. These screws hold the WD Purple drive in place. I found it strange they opted to put stickers on these holes and not the ones that allow you to have access to the guts of the NVR.
Inside there is a single board that does all the magic of connecting the IO, HDD, and running the UI.
Around the back of the NVR you will find the bulk of the connections. This model has (4) Ethernet connections, RCA inputs for audio in and out, a VGA connection, HDMI, Ethernet and USB, the power connection and a power switch. I think these connections are self-explanatory except for the audio ports. Since these cameras do not support audio let alone two way I don’t really know what this is for. Interestingly the image on the box shows these ports as blanked off, so maybe there is another camera system in the works that could utilize these. Overall, I was pleased with the connections, and build quality, especially the use of a quality drive.
