Packaging and Accessories:
The unit I received came shipped in the retail packaging, so it is a bit beat up. So please keep that in mind when looking at the pictures below. The box itself is pretty big measuring 20” x 15 ¾” x 8 ¼”. The front provides an image of the major components that are inside along with EZVIZ logo, but in huge letters it makes it clear this is a 4k UltraHD camera system. The back provides an image of the back of the NVR as well as a detailed list of the contents you will be receiving.
One side discusses the app and smart analytics while the other side gives a 4K vs 1080p comparison, EXIR vs traditional IR comparison, IP and HDD rating.
Overall the packaging provides all the info you need to know what you are getting, but I do have one complaint. While this is not just an EZVIZ issue; the way many manufacturers market these cameras is a bit misleading to those who don’t know much about what they are buying. In the comparison shots below, they show the 1080P camera as only capturing the garage where the 4K camera sees the entire house. This leads people to think the advantage is going to be a much wider FOV rather than 4 times the pixels for any given mounting location. In truth, both cameras would only be seeing the garage (give or take) but the 4K would provide much greater detail and allow you to zoom in much further without losing resolution. To me the box artwork is confusing but the image from their website is a bit deceptive. As you can see below they are trying to indicate that one camera can replace four which ends up meaning you’d save money with a 4K system. This simply isn’t true.
Opening this box, you will find two plain brown cardboard boxes; the first is the Camera and Accessories box. So, it should come as no surprise that inside this box you’ll find the (4) 4k cameras all individually boxed and (4) 100’ Ethernet cables. As mentioned above; the retail packaging was a bit beat up after shipment but as you can see the contents were unharmed.
In each Camera box you’ll find the 4k bullet style camera, a template for the mount and mounting hardware. Each Ethernet cable is wrapped up with plastic wrap.
The other box contains the NVR and its accessories. Flipping this lid, you’ll find the NVR neatly wrapped in anti-static plastic and suspended on both ends in foam. In two small boxes on either side you’ll find your power supply, HDMI cable, Ethernet cable, and mouse. Overall, they did a good job of making sure things were packed well enough to survive common carriers’ treatment.
