Basic Settings: The first thing you should do is set your time zone, because changing this erases all data on the card. So if you have something you want to back up, do it now. Here you also have access to change the video and recording settings. Under Video settings you can adjust the resolution between (4) preset defaults values. Beyond that you can also change the Quality of the image between (3) preset levels and finally you have a slide bar to adjust the image brightness. In my installation I did not need to adjust the brightness from their preset level but I did bump the resolution and quality to the highest settings.
The Recording settings allow you to enable Normal and Voice recording, enable date and time on video, set speed units, duration of recordings (1,2 or 3 min), auto switching to parking mode and rear camera power. Here the only change I made was to make the recording duration 3 minutes each and speed set to MPH.
Sensitivity Settings: Allow you to fine tune the G-sensors threshold to determine what is an event and what is not. This can be adjusted independently for Normal (driving) and Parking mode. Personally I think these are better and easier to adjust in the desktop viewer but I will touch on that later. But if you need to make an emergency change this does suffice to make it more or less sensitive. You can also adjust the motion sensitivity when in parking mode and enable a speed alarm.
Other Settings: Allow you to control LED activity, control if and when the voice prompts are active and at what volume you will hear them.
