The camera is actually much larger than I was expecting; in fact it is bigger than many battery operated cameras. This camera is roughly a 3” sphere! Most of the body is a gloss white with the camera’s face being black.
When viewed from the business end you can make out the small pin hole at the top which is the microphone. Below that is the operation LED which can be shut off if you want this to be a little more covert. Centered in the face is the 2 megapixel CMOS sensor. At the bottom there is a light sensor for auto day/night operation should you want this. Not visible until night time are the two IR sources which are located about 3 and 9 o’clock.
Turning to the back you will find your fairly typical magnetic mount set up.
The bottom edge of the device has a small rubber flap to cover the microSD card slot for local recording and a reset switch. The USB cable exits slightly to the left through a sealed connection. Interestingly D-Link opted to include a threaded mount connection near the back of the device. This gave me pause since the camera was so big, I was concerned the magnetic mount might not be sufficient.
The right side of the camera has the D-Link logo and the left has the penetrations for the internal speaker which allows for clear two way communication.
