The OCZ Technology new Solid 2 60GB SSD arrived in a package resembling the $9.99 value CD-ROM software boxes you might see at your local electronics store.
The front of the package shows a few key features such as ‘New Faster SATA II Access Times’ and ‘RAID Support.’ On the back of the box is a brief summary of the Solid 2, as well as basic specifications on the series.
With the small packaging, I wondered about the survivability of the drive â€" especially having heard some of the tales of people who have worked for shipping companies. No worries or frets, though; the drive is well protected from shocks and bumps by very high-density foam all around. Opening the package reveals the drive in its anti-static bag, as well as a basic installation guide. No other accessories are included, so if you plan to utilize the Solid 2 as a replacement for an in-use laptop drive, you'll need to plan for an external enclosure kit and cloning software to complete that task.
