Internal Examination:
With the cover on the power supply removed (which voids the warranty), I was surprised to see that it looks almost identical to other power supplies. Most 1000W power supplies utilize dual PCBs, or longer PCBs, however the interior of the Xclio Stable Power 1000W Power Supply does not look any different when compared to less powerful power supplies. Some of the components are larger than normal, however it still seems small for a 1000W unit. While the average user will never see the interior components, I was impressed that the heatsinks were black to match the chassis.
As mentioned above, the fan is a standard 11-bladed 140mm case fan. It was manufactured by Young Lin Tech Co, and although I was not able to find any specific information on this model, the manufacturer is known to produce some high quality fans.
Looking at one side of the chassis, I noticed the fan can be replaced as it uses a standard fan connector. Looking at the opposite side, I found some very large components. There are no potentiometers installed on this unit (that I was able to locate), and while not a requirement they are helpful to have in order to adjust the voltage of the rails.
Installation:
If you have installed a power supply before then nothing will surprise you here. As mentioned, the Xclio Stable Power 1000W Power Supply is standard sized, and will not present issues that some of the larger 1000W units on the market may. The image below does show why wrapping the cables end to end is helpful; the mess of cables in the upper portion of the case would look a lot nicer if the cables were wrapped.
