External Examination (continued):
It was surprising to not find any intake fans on the side of the case. Instead there are two large windows which would make up the empty area at the top and bottom of a large X. Near the rear of the case is a little handle which helps when removing the side panel and allows you to lock the side panel closed. The picture on the right shows the other side of the case. Similar to the other sides, there are two large areas which have been perforated for maximum airflow. There is a model of this case which does not include the side windows, and both sides look similar to this one side.
Along the back section of the side panels are some fins which could be used to route external cables out of the way. I do not feel these are particularly useful, as I prefer to have my cables routed to the bottom of the case. All they do for me is provide a nice look to the back section.
Internal Inspection:
The side panel is held in place with two thumb screws, and with it removed we can inspect the internal features of the Thermaltake Xaser VI.
There are some features which immediately grabbed my attention. The first is the removable drive cage at the bottom and lower right of the case. There is room for seven 3.5" hard drives; five can be installed in the front section, while two more can be installed along the bottom of the case.
