PowerColor X1650 XT 256MB AGP Video Card
March 20, 2007

Testing (continued):

AquaMark3 is an older benchmark for testing the gaming capabilities of video cards. According to their site... "AquaMark3 is a powerful tool to determine reliable information about the gaming performance of a computer system." The GFX and Total portions of the score are presented below and show that the X1650XT again dominated the GeForce 7600GS. Settings for Aquamark3 were: 1024x768, No AA, 4x Anisotropy. (higher is better).

FEAR: Extraction Point:

"FEAR" was one of the most anticipated games of 2006, as well as being one of the most demanding on a computer system. The "Extraction Point" demo was used in conjunction with FRAPS (as described previously) to analyze the frame per second (fps) possible with each video card. It can be seen that neither card is quite up to the demands of "FEAR", but despite the fps values game play wasn't awful. Settings for "FEAR: Extraction Point" were: 1152x864x32, Medium Settings. (higher is better).

1440x900 Widescreen Gaming:

The next chart represents the frame rates achieved in four different games that all support widescreen gaming. Demo versions of all of the games were downloaded and executed in conjunction with FRAPS for data monitoring. "Frontline: Fields of Thunder" is a game that has yet to be released, but it and "Company of Heroes" are similar, strategic style games. "Tomb Raider Legend" and "Far Cry" represent the first person shooter genre of games, but have very unique styles. The data below was collected with the games run at 1440x900, and it shows that depending on the game, users can expect a significant performance boost going from the GeForce 7600GS to the X1650 XT.
