Packaging:
When I finally received the package from Thecus I was initially a bit confused. The box was for a different model, the N4100, as shown below.
Once I opened the outer box I realized that the correct enclosure had been shipped to me, but that Thecus used this other product's packaging merely to protect the N3200 on its way across the country. The two images below show different faces of the box, and that a handle on top makes carrying it around rather easy.
Inside the box, foam inserts keep everything safe and organized, and the unit arrived in perfect condition for review.
Accessories:
The image below details all of the accessories provided with the Thecus N3200 3-Bay SOHO network storage system. You receive a two piece AC/DC power adapter, a network cable, a quick installation guide, software CD, and a warranty card.
I took a look at the quick installation guide before getting started and I was immediately concerned. I am no dummy when it comes to computers, but the information provided seem way to vague and brief to really be all that was necessary to get up and running. Online documentation is a bit better, but overall the documentation seems to be an area that could use some more attention from Thecus. A 'novice' looking to add such a device to their SOHO environment might easily find themselves overwhelmed, esepcially if there is anything non-standard about their network.
