Tagan TG1300-U33 In The Zone Series 1300W Power Supply
|
The Basics (continued):
On the back of the power supply we find the usual suspects. There is a large hard power switch which is covered by a rubber cap. Directly under the switch is the AC power connector. To the left of the switch and the plug is the 80mm exhaust fan, covered by a simple fan grill. In the center we once again see this ABS Gaming Lab certification.
On the other end of the power supply is the 80mm intake fan, which is exactly like the exhaust fan. On the left we see the power cables as they exit the housing. Taking a closer look at the power cables as they exit the housing shows that they are sleeved from within the housing. The hole where the cables come out has a plastic ring ensuring the cables have no chance of being cut.
Tagan has included many extra accessories with the ITZ 1300W, and they are shown in the image below. There are four SATA to 4-pin drive adaptors, a rubber anti-vibration gasket, two small cable ties, an adaptor to convert a 4-pin drive connector to two floppy drive connectors, a metallic badge similar to the one on the power supply, and some velcro ties for wire management.
The below left image shows the power supply with the anti-vibration gasket in place. The gasket will isolate the power supply from the case, and should eliminate noise and vibration typical with the metal on metal contact experienced when mounting a power supply.
The above right image shows the size of various 1000W+ power supplies for comparison purposes. The top power supply is the OCZ ProXStream 1000W unit and the bottom power supply is the Ultra X3 1000W unit.
