Super Talent T1000UX2G5 2GB PC2-8000 DDR2 Memory Kit
|
The Basics:
The images below show the modules removed from the packaging, and it can be seen that Super Talent implements a fairly unique heatspreader design. The blue, textured finish is distinctive, and there are no clips holding the heatspreader in place. The product looks sleek, but heavy duty and somewhat industrial at the same time.
While the Super Talent logo covers the bulk of one side of each module, below we see that the other side carries a sticker detailing a variety of the typical technical information. One bit of interesting (and welcome) text printed on the label is that these modules were "Made in U.S.A.". You can't say that about too many electronics components these days.
Testing:

Please note the Super Talent memory will be compared to the 2GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-6400 DDR2 Memory Kit previously reviewed at BigBruin. Keep in mind this previously reviewed Crucial memory (PC2-6400) is not rated nearly as high as the Super Talent memory (PC2-8000). Both packages were tested at memory speeds considered to be stable (multiple passes of MemTest86 were run to verify stability before benchmarks were recorded).
